DTE Sponsors 1 Million Shillings To Assist DTE Jaguars Achieve Its Goals

Down To Earth Technologies (DTE) has sponsored DTE Jaguars for the second year running,
following their latest Top 3 win on the league and for qualifying for the Africa Club
Championship (ACC). The sponsorship of 1 million shillings entails Kshs 250,000 for finishing
top 3 at the league and the additional Kshs 750,000 for their upcoming participation at the Africa
Club Championship.

The cheque presentation was done at the City Park rink following their training for the Africa
Club Championship that starts on the 13th of February. The donation will go a long way in
helping the team achieve its goals. The funds will be used to upgrade the team's equipment,
players’ school fees, and their hockey initiatives.

Speaking at the ceremony, Regional Sales Manager, Perez Omondi commended the team on
their dedication and proof of achievement in the league and at ACC. DTE is excited to be part of
this group of young hockey players, who are growing from stride to stride in their effort to take
Kenyan hockey way from where it was in the past. The donation allows us to continue to promote the
sport of hockey in Kenya and Africa as a whole and inspire the next generation of players.

DTE has been a long-time supporter of the and has shown a strong commitment to the local
hockey community. The donation is a testament to DTE’s dedication to supporting the growth
and development of hockey in Kenya.

“Hockey like any other sport is key to unlocking talent and progressing the agenda of
government on sports and sporting. As DTE we are determined to walk this journey with
government and sports lovers especially hockey as a sport. We had a successful pilot of one year
where we chose to support Western Jaguars who at that point end time were at the bottom three
of the league. This proved successful since both our financial and moral support catapulted them
from bottom to top three in the league. This coupled with support for students in school and
college for the team members has boosted the morale of the team that is now geared towards
representing Kenya in the Africa games coming up”, added Perez Omondi.

This success story has also unveiled the name change of Western Jaguars that henceforth will be
renamed DTE JAGUARS.

DTE Jaguars would like to express its sincere gratitude to DTE for this generous donation and
for supporting the local hockey community. The team is committed to using these funds to make
a positive impact and to continue to provide high-quality hockey programs for years to come,”
said Castro Kaluna, Team Manager, DTE Jaguars.
